Cecil Rhodes

A 19th century business man/politician who played a dominant role in Southern Africa. He founded De Beers diamond firm which eventually controlled global trade.

Lots of debates around the Universities that still have scholarships bearing his name. Rhodesia, of course, was named after him but is now called Zimbabwe since Mugabe was in power.
