This is one of the most breathtaking places that I have been to. I have read articles about the beauty of Utah and seen many photographs but nothing prepares you for the visual shock of being here for the first time. This place is on a par with Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or Hawaii in my humble opinion.
In Tooele County, northwestern Utah, there is a densely packed salt pan known as the Bonneville Salt Flats. West of the Great Salt Lake it is famous for the "Bonneville Speedway" where many land speed records have been broken. I had no idea that these salt flats were so vast.
The famous Triumph Bonneville, a British icon of motor cycles, was named after these flats as they too tried to break the land speed records.
